A few of us decided to head down on Sat to make a start on sorting the main line into a rideable condition (thanks to Scott and Harry for turning up to lend a hand!).  For a long time the bottom part of the main line has been a bit of a disaster, the hill is simply too steep to work with.  So (with regret to the days Liam and Stonner Dave spent making the 5/6th jumps) we decided to dig them up and adjust the layout.

Basically we are putting a 180 burm in to send you back up the hill, there is a plan beyhond that but I want to check this works first before going too mad.  On the plus side, we managed to sort our BBQ area out, complete with oven and chimney.  We stole the idea from Wisley and Moo’s, although it is a good thing to have down the trails.  Can’t wait to fire it up and try it out!

The sunny weather recently was mint for the roadtrip but not so mint for the trails with crumbly dirt everywhere! Anyway back to normal Manchester weather now with drizzle and grey skies, but at least weve got alot done the last few sessions. Everything getting smoothed out now and re-packed, wont be long till its rideable we just need to do a final wet and smooth to make the lips like butter…

Also made plans for a big 180 berm and linking some of the lines up again, finishing with a big new stepup/trick jump to finish. Should be rad.

We’ve got a dig day planned for this Saturday so if your in the Manchester area hit us up for all the info. Or just get on facebook innit. Fj Trails – Facebook

Couple of panaramas to finish, nice one photoshop!

As the Royal Wedding approached and the nation went mental about the marriage of some German fellow and a “Commoner”, a few of us FJ locals headed down south to enjoy a bit of a road trip.  My own personal enjoyment was hampered by a broken wrist picked up from the bmx track a few weeks before, although on reflection I think I take better shots with two wires and a cast on my arm than I ever did with full function.

So after a 6am start and a few rounds of drum and bass later we rocked up at Swansea to enjoy the offerings at Moo’s trails.  Dan and the crew have put in some serious spade and digger time over winter since our last visit, and it shows. This place is amazing!  Enough chat, some pics from Moos (the rest are on Flickr here)

After staying the night at Moo’s (cheers for use of the Pizza oven guys) we headed down the M4 to stay with friends and let Pam-phlet finally pull one of the backflips he had been harking on about, suffice to say we weren’t impressed.

Next day we headed to the legendary Jimmy Pratt’s trails. As i’m sure your all aware Jimmy is an awesome trails rider and all around nice bloke, especially for allowing a gaggle of northern monkeys onto the trails. The guys from Vinewood also turned upon the day, its always nice to meet other people from the trails community who share the passion for spades and clay!  Good session went down, manged to get a fair number of shots, the bulk of which are on our flickr page.  Here’s the best of.

Massive shouts going out to Dan and the Moo’s boys as well as Jimmy and locals for having us and providing some serious motivation and inspirtion for our own trails! Cheers guys!
